How to Optimize ZOOM Experience

1. Make sure you have a Virtual Background set up for your ZOOM sessions. See above for instructions on how to do this.

2. Be aware of what is in view behind you - the camera picks up much more that just your face

3. Please make sure that your face can be seen. This means checking that the lighting is sufficient.

4. Please remember that you are technically still in school. Wear appropriate clothing.

5. Please try to use headphones with microphones. You will be able to hear and be heard

   better.

6. When you join a class, please mute your microphone so that the class can begin without

   a lot of distraction from background noise. Your teacher will let you know when you can

   un-mute your device.

7. Please follow the instructions for setting up the ZOOM app.

   • ○  Allow access to your camera and microphone when prompted by the ZOOM app during setup.

   • ○  Under ​Meeting Settings​, toggle everything on that needs to be toggled on in order for you to get credit for participating in class. Instructions are available in the ​Zoom for Students ​video or in the pdf with photos.

8. Please make sure that you have access to a charger and an outlet in the event your battery starts running low.
